Help us support the Rohingya refugees
The Rohingya people of Myanmar have faced decades of state sponsored discrimination and have been forced to flee Rakhine state to neighbouring Bangladesh. Bangladesh has a high rate of population growth and is facing extreme poverty.
In 2017, a mass exodus of 750,000 Rohingya refugees fled persecution and violence. Nearly all have sought shelter in two main UNHCR-run camps in Cox’s Bazar, Bangladesh, which is the world’s largest refugee camp and home to one million of which 52% are children and 44% are adults.
Bangladesh has a high rate of population growth and is facing extreme poverty. The country is affected by natural diseases and climate change. Therefore, the challenge remains for the refugees and the host community with access to healthcare. On top of challenges in accessing primary healthcare services, there is a shortage of specialists for the host community and in the camp.
Refugee Crisis Foundation (RCF) is committed to improving access to oral healthcare and specialist medical services, and providing educational support to refugees.
